Grid Connect Systems What is a does a system require? Roof Area | Maintenance | Orientation | Roof Slope | Roof Area: The area of the roof should be large enough to put the panels on and have a reasonable distance around the panel array to walk, for safety on the odd occasion that the panels are cleaned. If your roof faces east west, the array framing can be adapted to suit. Maintenance: A Grid Connect System requires virtually no maintenance apart from cleaning the panels occasionally in extended periods of dry weather. Rain will clean panels to some degree, because of the angle or slope the array is set. Leaf gums, tree resins, bird droppings and so on, are not always washed off in the rain. The performance of the panel array is reduced by residues on the panels. This is minimal over short periods, but over times like a year or more, the effect is noticeable. Orientation: All systems require a north facing roof. this is critical to obtain the maximum performance from a system. Roof Slope: The best angle for the array is 25°. I am setting up a series of presentations to help you understand exactly what a Grid Connect Photovoltaic Power Generation System is.
